Find 5 (or more) scholarly articles in under 20 seconds

As an undergraduate at D'Youville College there are a lot of things competing for your attention and most of them rank above having to do a research paper. We can't help you get out of writing your paper, but we can ease the search process - saving you what little time and energy you have left to write that paper and get back to your life.

So, so very busy!

Your instructor wants you to include "peer reviewed" or "scholarly" articles. This rules out a quick Google search, but it does not mean that you have to spend hours trying to figure out where to get a quality article or to even have to figure out what is "peer reviewed" and what is not.

Your instructor might have offered a tip like "try the library". You are skeptical because you are not sure where to start and you don't want to waste any time.  It is a great piece of advice though if you only need to find 3 or 4 peer reviewed articles on your topic.

The resource to use is found right smack in the middle of the main library page. Spartan Search is the name of this useful tool and it will find you peer reviewed articles in less time than it takes to make popcorn in the microwave.

You can't miss it!

You should be able to find a multitude of scholarly articles in a quick 2 step process using Spartan Search.

Just enter your keywords into the search box and click search.

After the search results screen appears, click on the "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals" limiter in the left hand column.

You are one click away

This will bring a new set of search results and every single one will come from a scholarly journal.

You can tell by the icon that they are academic

Every result should also have the full pdf available, so you will only need to click on the "full text" link at the bottom of each result to look at the full article.

This search and others like it should take around 16 seconds (according to my stop watch).

You will be surprised by the number of full text offerings are available from the Montante Family Library at D'Youville. Spartan Search makes it easy to extract material from this reservoir of information.
